Mechanical Seal Face Lapping In-House

Seal faces on shaft sleeves and gland rings are lapped to Ra ≤ 0.2 μm and flatness ≤ 0.001 mm using a dedicated lapping machine. No outsourcing, no additional lead time — and the result is verified and documented.

Pressure Test as Standard — Not an Extra

All pressure-retaining valve bodies and pump casings are hydrostatically tested to 1.5× MAWP before delivery. Test records are issued with every pressure-wetted part as standard.

We perform single-plane static balance and two-plane dynamic balance on a Schenck balancing machine. Standard balance grade is G6.3 (ISO 1940). G2.5 is available for high-speed impellers. Balance certificates are issued with all balanced components.
We grind and lap mechanical seal faces to Ra ≤ 0.2 μm (8 μin) and flatness ≤ 0.001 mm using a dedicated lapping machine. This meets the standard specification for balanced mechanical seals in pump applications.
We machine to ANSI B16.5 (Class 150 to 2500), DIN 2501/EN 1092-1, JIS B2220, and API 6A. Face forms: raised face (RF), ring-type joint (RTJ), and full face (FF). Material certificates to ASTM A182/A105 are provided.
Yes. We machine Hastelloy C-276, Inconel 625, Monel 400, and other nickel-base alloys using carbide tooling with conservative parameters. Our engineers have established machining parameters for each alloy that deliver consistent results.
Standard process: rough turn → stress relief → semi-finish turn → keyway milling → cylindrical grind to h5/h6 → runout inspection (≤0.01 mm TIR) → seal face lapping (if applicable) → final CMM inspection and CoC.
Yes. All pressure-retaining valve bodies, pump casings, and manifold blocks are hydrostatically tested to 1.5× rated MAWP as standard. Test records (pressure, duration, pass/fail) are issued with the CoC.
