Service Overview

Custom CNC Milling for Complex Geometries and Precision Surfaces

CNC milling uses rotating multi-point cutting tools to remove material from a workpiece, producing precise flat surfaces, pockets, slots, contours, threaded holes, and complex 3D profiles. Unlike turning, milling is the preferred process for parts with prismatic geometry, multiple machined faces, and freeform surfaces.

We operate 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis simultaneous milling centers — covering everything from simple plate-cutting work to full 5-axis contouring of impellers, aerospace brackets, and medical device housings, all under one roof.

Every order starts with a Design for Manufacturability (DFM) review. We check wall thicknesses, tool access angles, tolerance stack-ups, and surface finish requirements before cutting begins — eliminating surprises during production.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is CNC milling service?+
CNC milling is a subtractive manufacturing process where rotating multi-point cutting tools remove material from a workpiece to produce flat surfaces, pockets, slots, contours, and complex 3D profiles. CNC means the machine movements are digitally programmed, ensuring repeatable precision across every part in a production run.
What materials can you machine with CNC milling?+
We machine all common engineering metals and plastics — including aluminum alloys (6061, 7075, 5052), carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel (304, 316L, 17-4PH), titanium (Grade 2, Grade 5 / TC4), copper, brass, bronze, and engineering plastics such as PEEK, Delrin, Nylon, PTFE, and Polycarbonate. We stock 500+ material grades.
What tolerance can you hold for milled parts?+
Our standard tolerance is ±0.01 mm (ISO 2768-m). For critical features such as precision bores, sealing faces, and mating surfaces, we routinely hold ±0.005 mm with CMM verification. Extremely tight tolerances (±0.002 mm) are achievable on specific features with a precision grinding step.
What is the maximum part size for CNC milling?+
Our largest milling capacity accommodates parts up to 2000 × 1000 mm on 3-axis machines. For 5-axis simultaneous machining, part size depends on specific geometry — contact us with your drawing for a capability assessment. We can also handle very small parts down to 10 mm in the smallest dimension.
Do you offer 3-axis, 4-axis and 5-axis milling?+
Yes — we offer all three. 3-axis milling for standard prismatic parts; 4-axis for parts needing indexed or continuous rotary features; and full simultaneous 5-axis for complex freeform surfaces, undercuts, and multi-face machining in a single setup. We recommend the right axis count based on your part geometry to optimize cost and lead time.
Can you support prototype and low-volume production?+
Yes. We support order quantities from 1-piece prototypes up to 100,000+ piece production runs with no minimum order quantity. Prototype lead time is typically 3–5 business days. Low-volume production (10–500 pieces) runs in 5–10 business days. We scale from prototype to production without changing suppliers.
What surface finishes are available for milled parts?+
We offer a comprehensive range of post-machining surface treatments: Type II and Type III anodizing for aluminum, bead blasting, passivation for stainless steel, powder coating, electropolishing, electroplating (nickel, chrome, zinc, gold), DLC coating, PVD / CVD coating, and laser marking.
How fast can I get a quote for CNC milling parts?+
For standard parts, we provide a full quote within 24 hours of receiving your CAD file and drawing. Complex parts or large assemblies may take up to 48 hours. Upload your STEP file and drawing through our quoting system, and our application engineers will review DFM requirements alongside the price quotation.
