Aluminum Grades by Application Strength
Different aluminum alloys serve different strength and application requirements. Choose based on your load, environment, and finish needs.
General Purpose
General & Structural Aluminum
6061-T6 · 6063 · 6082
The broadest category — enclosures, brackets, frames, heat sinks, servo mounts, decorative panels, and load-bearing structural components. 6061 is the most versatile, 6063 best for anodized appearance, 6082 for higher structural loads.
High Strength
High-Strength Aerospace Aluminum
7075-T6 · 2024
Aerospace brackets, drone frames, aircraft structural components, high-load jigs, and strength-critical lightweight parts where weight-to-strength ratio is the primary concern.
Corrosion Resistant
Corrosion-Resistant Aluminum
5052
Marine hardware, chemical environment brackets, fuel system parts, and outdoor equipment where salt spray or chemical exposure requires superior corrosion resistance over raw strength.

Surface Treatment
Surface Finish Options for Aluminum Parts
Type II / III Anodizing
The most common aluminum finish. Type II for color and corrosion protection (5–25 μm). Type III hard anodize for wear resistance (25–75 μm). Available in clear, black, gold, red, blue, and custom colors.
Bead Blasting
Uniform matte texture removing machining marks. Common pre-anodize preparation for a clean, consistent satin surface on enclosures and visible parts.
Powder Coating
Durable, chip-resistant finish for aluminum parts in harsh or outdoor environments. Full RAL/Pantone color matching. Matte, gloss, and texture options.
Chromate Conversion / Alodine
Conductive corrosion-resistant coating for aluminum parts that require grounding or paint adhesion. MIL-DTL-5541 compliant. Common on aerospace and electronics parts.
