Virgin PTFE flat gaskets (±0.05mm face flatness, ±0.05mm thickness, chemical inert pH 0–14 — the widest chemical resistance of any gasket material), PTFE sealing rings and O-ring backup rings (profile ±0.05mm, sealing face Ra ≤0.4μm, prevents O-ring extrusion in high-pressure dynamic applications), and PTFE ball valve seats (bore H8, seating face Ra ≤0.4μm, -200°C to +260°C service temperature — PTFE valve seats are standard in ball valves because PTFE's low friction enables quarter-turn operation without galling the ball surface). Glass-filled PTFE (15% GF) for valve seats in high-pressure applications where unfilled PTFE would cold-flow — glass filler improves creep resistance at sustained compressive load. All sealing parts in virgin PTFE for food-contact applications (FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 compliant).

Cold Flow Management
PTFE has high creep (cold flow) — it deforms under sustained compressive pressure at room temperature. Gaskets and valve seats must have constraining geometry (metal retainer ring or housing groove) to prevent PTFE extrusion under sealing load. Glass-filled PTFE (GF15–GF25) has significantly better creep resistance — specified for high-pressure sealing applications where unfilled PTFE would extrude from the seal groove.

Sharp Tooling — No Cutting Force
PTFE is extremely soft and deforms under cutting force rather than shearing cleanly. We use extremely sharp carbide tooling with high rake angles, very high cutting speed, and no coolant (coolant can contaminate PTFE surfaces in sealing applications). Very light finishing passes produce the Ra ≤0.4μm sealing face surface. Worn tooling produces torn, rough PTFE surfaces that do not seal properly.

Clean Handling — No Skin Oil
PTFE surfaces must not be touched without gloves — skin oils reduce adhesion and contaminate PTFE sealing faces in critical valve and chemical applications. We handle all PTFE parts with powder-free gloves during machining and packaging. All PTFE parts bagged in clean polyethylene packaging and labelled with handling instructions. Clean handling is not optional for sealing applications.

GF25 for High-Pressure Sealing
We specify glass-filled PTFE (GF15/GF25) for valve seats and seal rings in high-pressure applications — not unfilled virgin PTFE which cold-flows out of the seal groove above 20 bar. GF significantly improves creep resistance while maintaining adequate chemical resistance for most process fluids.

Gloved Handling — Sealing Face Integrity
All PTFE sealing parts handled with powder-free gloves throughout machining and packaging. Skin oil contamination on PTFE valve seats and gasket faces reduces sealing effectiveness. We label all PTFE sealing parts with handling instructions and bag in clean PE packaging.

Virgin PTFE complies with FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 for food-contact applications. We specify virgin grade for all food/pharma sealing applications — filled grades may contain non-FDA-approved fillers. USP Class VI extraction testing data available on request for pharmaceutical applications.

Only Material for HF Service
Hydrofluoric acid attacks most metals and some plastics — PTFE is the standard material for HF seals, gaskets, and valve seats in semiconductor and chemical processing. Where a customer asks for a HF-compatible sealing material, virgin PTFE is the answer. We confirm chemical compatibility at DFM for all chemical service applications.

Gasket thickness: ±0.05mm. Face flatness: ±0.05mm. Bore: H8. Sealing face: Ra ≤0.4μm. Profile: ±0,1mm. PTFE is soft with high thermal expansion (135×10⁻⁶/°C) — tighter tolerances than these are difficult to maintain consistently. Glass-filled PTFE achieves tighter tolerances than virgin grade due to reduced cold flow.
